Deutsche Meister Wingfoil Slalom 2024 Kellenhusen

Exciting races and beaming winners: the 2024 German Wingfoil Slalom Championships

The German Wingfoil Slalom Championships took place last weekend as part of the Winger of the Sea (WOTS) events took place under optimal wind conditions and produced exciting races and impressive performances. With 28 riders registered, the event was a real highlight of the water sports season. And of course Wingpassion was there live! 🙂

Perfect conditions on the first day of the competition

Friday in particular, the first day of the competition, offered perfect conditions for the participants. The wind also remained constant on Saturday, so that a total of 13 races could be held. On Sunday, however, the wind died down and it rained, which meant that no more races were possible.

New German champions

Yannik Holste once again secured the title of “German Wingfoil Slalom Champion”. His brother Kim Holste took second place. The 19-year-old Jonas Manthei achieved third place and put in a strong performance.

Successes in the age groups

  • U19 class: Jonas Manthei took first place in this category. He was followed by Wingpassion team rider Jonathan Eckardt in second place and Benedikt Hiss in third.
  • Ladies: Jelena Duwe took first place by a narrow margin ahead of Jette Koep in second and Tania Tammling in third.
  • Master class: “Famous” Frank Rosin won first place here, although he only took part in the first day of the competition and therefore only took part in eight of the thirteen races. Sven Janson took second place, followed by Markus Moser in third place.
