Two new wingfoil boards are now available from Norden Surfboards.
Futurama STARTER – Sporty beginner board
With the Futurama Start, Norden Surfboards is launching a beginner-friendly wingfoil board that not only makes it easier to get started, but should also be fun even after the first learning successes. Most beginner boards are already exhausted after the first few attempts. Slightly longer, but a little narrower than conventional beginner boards, the board should glide effortlessly onto the foil. It should also touch down softer, e.g. after riding errors and then rise again from the hull glide, because length runs, even if you are not yet on the foil. The board also has a center fin, which can be mounted if required to help you stay on course in the early stages.
The Futurama Start is designed to appeal to wingfoilers who are looking for a board that will accompany them for longer than a pure beginner board. It can also be used as a SUP foil board for the waves. It is 6’2″ long, 28.5″ wide and has a volume of 120l.
Manufactured in Norden’s proven wood sandwich construction, it is now available at Norden Surfboards or in our Wingpassion Shop at a price of 1129 €.
Futurama downwind boards – a cheaper and, above all, beginner-friendly alternative
With the Futurama Downwind, Norden Surfboards is launching a beginner-friendly downwind foil board that is also ideal for wingfoiling. With a moderate width of 22 ¼ to 22 ½, it should be stable against tipping, which is a particular advantage when starting out with downwind SUP foiling. Most of the other boards in this class are generally very narrow and overwhelm beginners at the start. In addition, the Norden boards should also be easy to use as a wingfoil base and even have footstrap options. To improve compatibility with different foils, long foil boxes have been installed, which offer more scope for the foil position.
The price is particularly interesting, as Norden has opted for a reduced glass-wood sandwich construction rather than full carbon. This is not only very robust, but also cheaper.
